The 2007 inaugural edition of First Spouse $10 Gold Coins from the United States Mint featured the Abigail Smith First Spouse Gold Coin as it's second release overall. The coin's obverse which features a beautiful potrait of the First Lady designed by famed sculptor Joseph Menna. The coin's reverse features a design by Thomas Cleveland and was sculpted by Phebe Hemphill. This design showcases Abigail Adams writing her famous 1776 letter appealing to her husband to move forward the Women's Rights Movement in his work with the new United States Republic. This letter would become to be known as "Remember The Ladies".

Born in Massachusetts, in 1744, she became married to John Adams at the age of twenty in 1764. When her husband became President in 1797, Abigail Adams served the nation for four years becoming the first First Lady to reside in the White House.

This half ounce coin is minted in .9999 24 karat fine gold and was strictly limited in quantity to 40,000 pieces, and
were shipped from the Mint packaged in a highly polished, plush-lined wooden case and comes complete with a Certificate of Authenticity from the U.S. Mint.
